We have implemented the Parallel Protein Information Analysis (PAPIA)
system on RWC PC cluster II (PCC2) which consists of 64 Pentium Pro 200MHz
node processors. The PAPIA system on PCC2 is capable to perform typical calculations
in protein information analysis, such as similar structure search,
homologous sequence search, and multiple sequence alignment,
50 times faster than a single processor.
